The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the highly anticipated 2024 Inside|Out program. This beloved initiative by the DIA brings the magic of art to communities in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties through high-quality reproductions of artwork from the museum’s prestigious collection. Interested communities can submit their applications until August 8, 2023.
“The Inside|Out program is a unique way for the museum to connect with the residents of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County. With over 20 communities currently hosting installations, we are already looking forward to welcoming next year’s participants,” said Julie McFarland, Executive Director of Community Engagement at the DIA. “This program is just one of the ways we collaborate with the community to create DIA experiences beyond the museum’s walls and right into the heart of the communities we serve.”
To apply for the program, individuals and communities interested in participating can visit the DIA’s official website at www.dia.org/insideout, where they will find the application form. Priority consideration will be given to communities that are applying for the first time and those who have not participated in the Inside|Out program within the past three years. Selected locations will be notified of their acceptance in August.
The captivating installations of the 2023 Inside|Out program are currently on display in 21 communities across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Visitors can immerse themselves in the artistic wonders until November 2023. Since its inception, the program has successfully partnered with over 100 communities, exemplifying the DIA’s commitment to bringing art to the masses and enriching the cultural fabric of the region.
