Detroit Housing and Revitalization accepts proposals for CDBG and NOF

DETROIT houseThe City of Detroit Housing and Revitalization Department (formerly the Planning and Development Department) and the Legislative Policy Division (LPD) invites community organizations to submit proposals for projects to be funded through the 2015-2016 Community Development Block Grant/Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (CDBG/NOF) program. Proposal forms are available beginning March 11, 2015 at the CDBG/NOF workshops. Proposals will be also be available online in (non-fillable) PDF format on March 16, 2015.
All proposals for the 2015-2016 CDBG/NOF Program must be submitted on a 2015-2016 CDBG/NOF Proposal Form. Proposals may be mailed or delivered to the HRD offices until April 6, 2015. All proposals must be delivered by the submission deadline — Monday, April 6, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in the Housing and Revitalization Department offices, located at 2 Woodward Avenue, Suite 908.
All non-profit community organizations, including business organizations, and human service organizations, that wish to participate in the development and implementation of either CDBG or NOF projects as advisors and/or as operating agencies may submit proposals.
In order to assist those interested in applying for a grant, the Housing and Revitalization Department is offering the following proposal workshops, designed to help community groups prepare their CDBG/NOF proposals. Attendance at one of the workshops is MANDATORY to be considered eligible for funding. No more than 2 persons per group should attend a workshop. The workshops are:
Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 9 a.m. – noon (Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.)

Monday, March 16, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. (Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.)
Samaritan Center, 5555 Conner, Detroit, MI 48213
Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 1:30 – 4 p.m. (Registration begins at 1 p.m.)
Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 2 Woodward Ave, 13th Floor Auditorium, Detroit, MI 48226
CDBG/NOF workshop proposals will be issued for the following four activities only

  • Public Service
  • Homeless Public Service
  • Public Facility Rehabilitation
  • Commercial Façade Improvements
