Detroit Foundation Hotel Provides a Unique Thanksgiving Menu

Planes, trains, and automobiles. Since the industrial revolution, Detroit has been a beacon of innovation and progress for the country. Located in the heart of Motor City, Detroit Foundation Hotel continues this tradition, acting as a true cultural catalyst for its guests and the surrounding community. Named No. 5 Best Hotel in the Midwest by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards, Detroit Foundation Hotel pays homage to the Detroit of then and now in its design, food and beverage concepts, and amenities.

Detroit Foundation Hotel’s signature restaurant, The Apparatus Room, and culinary team led by James Beard Award-nominated Chef Tom Lents will offer a curated Thanksgiving menu this holiday season.

The Thanksgiving Feast

Designed for families and friends celebrating the holiday together, the Thanksgiving Feast prix-fixe menu features a range of dishes, revisiting holiday favorites and highlighting the best of what the forest and field offer. Starting with snacks for the table, such as mini corn cakes with black walnut and guajillo, the meal kicks off with small plates, including a roasted pumpkin salad with wild rice, apple, confit turkey, and watercress before moving on to the main courses and side dishes, showcasing favorites such as the juniper roasted Venison with baked onion, sunchokes, and cranberry wojapi before finishing with dessert, a choice of pecan, pumpkin or apple cheddar pie.

For those looking for a plant-based way to celebrate, the team has created a fully plant-based feast, with unique takes on traditional dishes such as the smoked celery root bake with leeks, mushrooms, and potato and topped with breadcrumbs and a Three Sisters Succotash with winter squashes, black beans, corn, carrot “sausage” and sage. The prix-fixe Thanksgiving Feast is $75 per person and $30 for children under 12. Reservations for dinner can be made here.
