Detroit EM Kevyn Orr was the topic of conversation across social media and websites this past weekend, due to comments that were made in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal. In the article Orr was quoted saying that Detroit was lazy among other comments. Below is an excerpt of the WSJ article:
Much of Detroit’s dysfunction is also due to simple complacency. “For a long time the city was dumb, lazy, happy and rich,” he explains.
While several people took to twitter with the information including Detroit mayoral candidate Benny Napoleon, Bill Nowling, spokesman for Kevyn Orr also tweeted regarding the WSJ article:
During one of most pivotal and uncertain times in Detroit’s history, I find EM Kevyn Orr’s comments comments most offensive and troubling.
