PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will introduce its plans for the new Detroit Mobility 1st (DM1) service at Detroit’s Coordination Planning Committee’s (DCPC) annual meeting, which will take place on Thursday, December 17, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Rosa Parks Transit Center, located at 360 Michigan Avenue in Detroit.
As Detroit’s centralized and fully-coordinated mobility center, DM1 will enhance transit-services for Detroit’s elderly, disabled, and lower-income riders. It will serve as a collaborative service, operated by DDOT in coordination with the area’s local transportation providers, to provide transit services that benefit the area as a whole.
DM1 will be partially funded by the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Job Access/Reverse Commute (JARC/5316) and New Freedom (NF/5317) grant programs. Funds allocated to DDOT for JARC and NF services will be disbursed through DM1 to participating transportation providers. The following grant funds are currently available to operate DM1 services:

DDOT encourages the public to attend and participate in the planning process by providing feedback on DM1’s proposed service features and grant funding opportunities. Public comments will be accepted in writing, by mail, and electronically, beginning December 17, 2009 through January 31, 2010.
