Detroit People Mover Provides Service for Thanksgiving Races, Parade and Lions’ Game
Park your vehicles and ride a Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) shuttle bus to America’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday, Nov. 28, starting at 7 a.m. Riding a DDOT shuttle will ease the stress of heavy traffic delays and eliminate costly parking fees.
The bus fare is:
• Adult: $2 each way
• Youth: (18 years and under) – $1 each way
• Children: (under age 5 or 44 inches tall) – Free (limit three, accompanied by an adult)
Discount fares do not apply to shuttle service, and bus drivers cannot provide change. Therefore, riders must insert the exact amount in the farebox. Individuals can board the shuttles at three Park and Ride locations, where parking is free.
• Eastland Mall (Beaconsfield entrance) – Park in the lot between Sections 5 & 8; shuttle arrives downtown at Library between Gratiot and Grand River.
• Fairlane Mall – Park south of DDOT’s loading zone; shuttle arrives downtown at Adams Street at Clifford
• Northland Mall (Greenfield entrance) – Park in Lot G; shuttle arrives downtown at Adams Street at Clifford.
The shuttles will run approximately every 20 minutes at mall locations as follows:
• Start Time: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
• Return Time: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. DDOT also is providing extra bus service on Grand River, Gratiot and Woodward routes.
