The Detroit Association of Black Organizations Inc. (DABO) has joined with a coalition of community healthcare organizations (The Disability Network Inc.; Premier Quality Health Center Inc.; Sinai-Grace Hospital (DMC); Wayne State University) to offer free testing of the novel COVID-19 virus to Detroiters. This move is part of the effort to help Detroiters battle the spread of the coronavirus.
Unlike other sites that are offering testing, individuals who want a test can simply just show up. No prescription, no insurance, no prior appointment – nor a car. The only requirement is that people show up with proper identification.
“We want to make it as convenient as possible for people in the community to get tested,” said DABO Executive Director Rev. Horace Sheffield, III. “People who get tested will find out whether they have COVID-19 and if they have antibodies in their system to fight the coronavirus.”
