Cortnie Squirewell is the Executive Director of Innovation & Stakeholder Engagement for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan and is responsible for innovating the typical Boys & Girls Clubs model by developing an impact partner strategy, career pathway program for teens, designing an Esports lab, and establishing a virtual club model to keep youth connected during the global pandemic. Prior to her current role, she was responsible for creating a community needs assessment and developing a community visioning model for Ford Motor Company Fund. This information was instrumental in the selection process of programs and partners for one of Ford’s own distinctive Resource and Engagement Center east location. Squirewell started her career as an educator in Detroit, where she instructed and served as a design thinking trainer and coach. She also co-developed curriculums for the Sean Anderson Foundation, Ford STEAM Lab, and Spin Electric Scooter. Cortnie is currently a board member of Detroit Enterprise Academy and BUF connect of Michigan. Squirewell was born and raised in Detroit and earned her Leadership and Education Specialist degree from Oakland University.
