Community Job, Health & Resource Fair to take place in Detroit

Reveal Detroit, Great Communities Now, and Martin Evers Missionary Baptist Church are partnering to host a Community Job Fair. The fair will be held on March 1, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Martin Evers MBC. This event is free to the public.

The following departments and resources will be available at the event:

US Census Department (Jobs starting at $24 an hour)

Wayne County Community College District (Education and Skill Training)

Detroit Land Bank (Property Purchasing Opportunities)

Health Screenings

Attendees will have the opportunity to register to vote, apply for an absentee ballot, and check their voter registration status. Also, prizes and giveaways will be available at the fair.

Recently, Detroit was recognized for its exponential job growth, outpacing the entire state. “Bringing new jobs to Detroit and filling them with Detroiters has been a cornerstone of the Mayor’s economic development strategy,” said David Massaron, Chief Financial Officer for the City of Detroit. “This independent forecast validates that strategy as we work to ensure Detroiters have opportunities for good jobs.”
