Comerica Cares volunteers assisted the Detroit Lions Academy (DLA) this summer during a Clean-Up Project to help beautify the school’s new campus located off Warren Ave.
Volunteers helped clean-up of the courtyard, main school entrance and the back garden area, which requited required clean-up, landscaping, fresh flowers, picnic tables and raised garden beds.
Detroit Lions Academy (DLA) is an alternative school with three unique programs, which includes:
— providing over-age middle school students to get back on the path to success to reach high;
— offering the opportunity for high school students to make up missed classes, improve grades, and to earn the credits needed for high school graduation;
— giving a second chance for students who cannot succeed in a regular school environment.
Detroit Lions Academy programs provide a second chance for students to succeed in a supportive academic and social environment.
