Combat the Hiv Epidemic By Supporting the 24th Annual Dining for Dollars Fundraising Event

UNIFIED-HIV Health and Beyond (UHHB) will celebrate its 24th annual Dining for Dollars event on Wednesday,May 15 at 6 p.m.

The mission of UHHB is rooted in the history of their fight against HIV. The organization advocates for individuals living with the disease, advances prevention, participates in community research and provides access to health care.

In a 2018 review of HIV trends conducted by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, it was founded that an estimated 18,650 people are living with HIV in Michigan as of July 2018. The overall rates of new diagnoses

of the disease in the state are slightly increasing.

By providing preventative tools and encouraging the raising of funds to support the organization’s overall goals of combating the epidemic, Dining for Dollars contributes to changing the narrative of the HIV community.

There will also be an auction featuring approximately 100 items, including a one-night stay with breakfast for two at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti, tickets to the University of Michigan vs. Michigan State University football game, a Detroit Lions fan package with an autographed photo, fine wines, jewelry, gift cards and more.
