High School Glam Suite, a non-profit dedicated to giving high school seniors a free, premiere prom experience will offer Glam Suite Graduation Boxes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year, according to a press release.
Metro Detroit students experiencing challenges are especially invited to apply to receive a customized box this summer. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 16, 2021. High SchoolGlam Suite is being sponsored by Project Beautiful-Inside and Out for the fourth consecutive year.
“When our board discussed this year’s school cancellation, we decided that despite not having a prom these students still deserve to feel special,” said Kori C. Fields, founder of High School Glam Suite in a press release. “We know the Glam Suite Graduation Boxes cannot take the place of prom, but we want to make sure we create something memorable for our seniors.”
Last year High School Glam Suite gifted 10 graduating seniors with customized boxes to fit their post-high school needs. Some of the items included gift cards, comforter, towels, linen, dishes, mirrors, toiletries, and more. This year we will provide ten 2021 graduation seniors with customized boxes to fit each student’s post-high school needs.
Since 2016, High School Glam Suite has hosted workshop series that focuses on self-esteem, health and fitness, and community service. The series ends with the ultimate prom makeover experience.
They have assisted more than 20 students with head-to-toe prom preparation. Students experience a full day with professionals who have provided custom dresses, luxurious hair extensions, accessories, shoes, hair, makeup, nail services, spa treatments, photography, and catering. Students selected for programming often have experienced some type of adversity, including homelessness, a house fire, and the loss of a parent.
