City of Detroit continues to deal with three-day snowfall

⁃ Side streets were to have been completed by 6 am Sunday
⁃ Residents should report any missed residential streets through Improve Detroit App.
The work of clearing Detroit’s major roads continues into its third day this morning as salt truck drivers also contended with sleet and freezing rain for a period of time. City crews have been working back to back 12 hour shift’s since early Friday morning and private contractors have substantially completed the plowing of more than 1880 miles of the neighborhood side streets.
City inspectors are now in the process of verifying the work performed by private contractors along city’s residential side streets, which was to have been completed by 6 AM this morning. DPW director Ron Brundidge said that the work appears substantially complete but that some areas may have been missed or need to be revisited.
Contractors will not be paid until their work is complete.
Residents can help report streets that may have been missed through the Improve Detroit app. As reports come in, the city will send an inspector out as soon as possible and Dispatch a private contractor, if necessary.
