A grand opening of a reimagined Church’s Chicken is slated at Highland Park.
Fried chicken enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy a meal at a brand-new Church’s Chicken, located at 15101 Woodward Ave. in Highland Park. The 1,800 square-foot store will boast a modern, reimagined look, with the same quality food and bold Texas flavor customers have come to know and love.
A grand opening ceremony is set for 9:45 a.m. on Friday Nov. 19 at Highland Park Mayor Hubert Yopp, City Council President Carlton Clyburn. Jr. and other local dignitaries are planning to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. At that time, Church’s Chicken and the franchise ownership, QSR Group, will give away coupon booklets to the first 45 guests to commemorate its 45th franchise location. The booklet, valued at $250, is filled with offers for chicken sandwiches and three-piece meals to be used over the next 12 months. Customers can begin lining up at 8 a.m. Throughout the day, Church’s will also give away $5 gift cards and two-piece combo meals.
In addition, the company will donate 20% of its grand opening day sales to the Highland Park Jets Cheerleading Squad, who will also attend the grand opening. After winning a local competition, the squad has been given the opportunity to compete on a national level in Kissimmee, FL and the funds raised will support their fundraising efforts needed to travel to the competition.
The updated restaurant will offer a revitalized look and feel with contemporary lighting, fresh exterior design and color palettes and the latest interior seating options. Texas-inspired signage that highlights Church’s bold Texas flavors are represented throughout, and the dining room is illuminated by a star light, as a nod to the iconic star in the Church’s Chicken logo. QSR Group plans to remodel up to half of its 12 Detroit Church’s Chicken locations within the next year, with a brand-new location scheduled to open in Clinton Township this December.
