Winning Futures announced today that Bryan Howard has been promoted to director of programs. Based in Warren, MI, Winning Futures is a nationally recognized and award-winning nonprofit organization that empowers teens to be successful through workforce preparation, life skills development, strategic planning, mentoring, and scholarship programs.
Bryan joined Winning Futures in 2011 and most recently served as a program facilitator, delivering the organization’s in-class mentoring and life skills development curriculum. As director of programs, he will lead the organization’s program design, implementation, and evaluation. Bryan replaces Carla Wellborn who is leaving Winning Futures to pursue a Ph.D. in Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
“I strongly believe in the power of leadership and helping our local youth develop the skills and knowledge they’ll need to be successful after high school,” said Bryan.

Prior to joining Winning Futures, Bryan was the process excellence manager for Powerlink. He also is a decorated military veteran, having served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retiring in 2007 as the career information program manager for all naval bases in the Pacific Northwest. Outside of Winning Futures, Bryan is president of the National Black M.B.A. Association Detroit Chapter and a member of the Detroit Workforce Leadership Academy 2020 Cohort.
