*WNBA player Glory Johnson announced via Instagram that she’s having twins.
The news comes after a whirlwind of activity, beginning with the announcement of her pregnancy on June 4 – when she was still married to fellow NBA star Brittney Griner.
Two weeks before their wedding at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, the two were arrested after getting in a domestic dispute and subsequently suspended by the WNBA.
“Last Wednesday, Glory and I agreed to either legally separate, get divorced, or annul our marriage,” Griner said in a statement, “I can confirm that today I filed for an annulment. In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake.”
On Monday, Johnson Instagrammed her sonogram and revealed in the caption that she is nine weeks pregnant with twins.
“It’s not a surprise for me because this is what we planned for with the IVF Cycle, though hearing their heats beat for [the first] time was the most astonishing thing I have ever heard in my entire life,” Johnson wrote. The professional athlete continued, “For 15yrs Double-Doubles came with hard work and dedication…now I’ve been blessed by God to have “double doubles” for the rest of my life! Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalms 127:3.”
