While visiting the Big Apple, in addition to visiting the typical tourist attractions, consider adding a new travel destination on your sightseeing list: iconic Black neighborhoods.
Travelers looking to experience and learn more about Black neighborhoods can do so through a new initiative, “The Black Experience,” ESSENCE Magazine reported.
New York City’s new travel program (highlighting the city’s largest Black population in the country) will showcase Black communities in neighborhoods like Jamaica (Queens), Flatbush (Brooklyn) and Harlem (Manhattan) through marketing organization, NYC & Company.
While in these neighborhoods, travelers can go on guides, watch videos, interviews, and learn more of Black-owned businesses in a place known for its music and style, food, and more.
