Detroit’s first fashion and beauty-focused summit is set to hold their third annual Fashion and Beauty Summit hosted by style, beauty and lifestyle brand, Posh and Popular. An interactive experience for creative and innovative women that strive to make an impact in the fashion and beauty industry. This year’s event will welcome the industry’s leading fashion blogger, whom became a viral trendsetter chronicling fashionistas of color and Founder of FashionBombDaily.com, Ms. Claire Siobhan Sulmers as Keynote Speaker. Proceeds from the event will be dedicated to funding two to three emergent beauty trendsetters as they aim to build their budding brands while shedding light on the budding fashion and beauty industry in Detroit.
The event will host a series of business and beauty breakout sessions while creating opportunities for Michigan based beauty and fashion brands to serve as vendors and experts. Holding a community focus to providing participants with essential knowledge to make headway in the industry, The hosting brand will also introduce The P.O.S.H. and Popular Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting women who are transitioning from prison and domestic abuse circumstances to provide them with essential resources and support, while re-acclimating to life and setting their aims higher toward becoming business owners in the fashion and beauty space.
Partnering with organizations like Goodwill Detroit for our previous summit, Posh and Popular is committed to the women in the community who are passionate about the fashion and beauty industry who need assistance with getting their lives back on track. Clothing drives, empowerment seminars, and resource boot camps are just a few of the plans in place for the women that will benefit from the foundation’s efforts.
Offering scholarships for women looking to attend cosmetology school or other enriching programs to further their careers in the beauty industry are the plans for the proceeds the organization raises from the Fashion and Beauty Summit. Providing resources to assist women during their transitional period, is Posh and Popular’s mission.
