Be a part of Detroit’s Great Neighborhood Tradition Day

What is it?
Neighborhoods Day celebrates all the great work block clubs, churches, schools, community groups and local businesses do throughout the year in the effort to create a better Detroit. Neighborhoods
Day events are held all over the city, most of them on the same day, from midtown to downtown, from the west side to the east side.
What type of event should I have?
Whatever shows off the work and serves the needs of your neighborhood or organization – such
as community cleanups, parades, workshops on various issues, youth events and concerts, volunteer signups for community programs, health fairs, garage sales, picnics, etc.
Register to participate:
Register for Neighborhoods Day at www.arisedetroit.org, or phone 313-921-1955. There is a $50 registration fee. You will receive a Neighborhoods Day banner with the name of your organization, T-shirts, water and more. Groups doing cleanup or beautification projects will receive a $100 voucher to purchase supplies for their event. Registration deadline is July 15, 2018.
How will I get volunteers?
ARISE Detroit! makes every effort to connect potential volunteers to Neighborhoods Day events. However, the volunteers often self-select the types of activities they wish to support. The website posting of your event indicates all groups that are seeking volunteers. Interested parties can then contact the groups directly about volunteer details.
How will people learn about my event?
ARISE Detroit! promotes all the events to the local media and all events are posted with a map on www.arisedetroit.org. ARISE Detroit! is a nonprofit coalition of more than 400 organizations, promoting volunteerism, community activism and positive media images to create a better Detroit.
