What Excites you most about going to college? My career in secondary Michigan and double majoring in paralegal. Making a difference in the upcoming generation and making a difference in my neighborhood. This is a great opportunity and I’m very very grateful to Michigan Chronicle, TCF Bank, My educators, Parents, and to God for making this all
Possible.
What does BLM mean to you as a new student: Being that Cass Tech is a multicultural school, I’ve learned to much about the Black community and it’s just so beautiful to me. I feel like we have similar moral and ethics, and the support we give each other. To me BLM means my best friend, who won this award last year, I feel like we should keep this movements going and encouraging all Black lives to keep going. It’s our duty to make Change. Some of my greatest friends from school we’re black and they taught me so much. We’re in the together we have to support each other, the Black community has suffered so much. It hurts my heart. This is real, we’re losing Black Men and Black women. Even though I couldn’t go to the protest I used social media to educate others. Even about how white-washed our textbooks are. They deserve the rights that every other human has. I really hope in my heart that these protests keep going.
Advice to Current Highschool Student: Most definitely to stay strong. Things will be thrown at you but have faith. Have a group Of People with you. Pray if you believe in God. You’re not alone.
Personal Statement
In the last two years of my high school career, I encountered many adversities. One by one, it became more and more difficult to keep up, but I never succumbed. Day after day, I continued to fight on my own and find ways to thrive given the ongoing circumstances. Though, the fight never stops; I will be pursuing a higher level of education with the opportunities given to me! For those educators who have played an important role in my success, I am grateful. Without your guidance, your patience, and your kindness, I would have not gotten thus far.
