Die-hard Lions fans won’t have to worry about the late-night drive home from Downtown Detroit after Saturday’s highly anticipated playoff showdown against the Washington Commanders. The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) is rolling out a special “Midnight Run” late-night D2A2 service on January 18, ensuring fans can cheer on the Lions without stressing about post-game transportation to Ann Arbor.
D2A2 will operate between Ann Arbor and Detroit, starting at 7:45 a.m. Riders can be picked up in Downtown Ann Arbor at the Blake Center, located at 331 South 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, MI. Once in Detroit, passengers will be dropped off at 1508 Park Avenue in Grand Circus Park, just a short walk from Ford Field.
To ensure that attendees can get to the game at Ford Field and back to Ann Arbor without the hassle of parking or traffic, D2A2 will extend its regular hours departing Downtown Detroit for Ann Arbor at 11:55 p.m.
Ben Stupka, Executive Director of the RTA highlighted it’s an exciting time to be a Lions fan.
“By extending D2A2’s hours on Saturday, we’re making it easier for people to travel from all over the region and experience the Lions’ thrilling 2025 playoff run,” Stupka said.
“We remain committed to meeting the region’s transportation needs and providing convenient travel options to enjoy the game all while leaving the stress of driving and parking behind.”
D2A2 passengers can relax and enjoy the entire game, knowing they won’t miss their bus back home. The buses feature modern amenities, including comfortable seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, and charging ports.
D2A2 has experienced impressive growth since it started in 2020. In October 2024, the service set a new record by logging nearly 10,000 rides. The buses that provide transportation for this service are operated by Michigan Flyer.
One-way fares are $8 at the door or $6 with an advance online booking discount. Riders are strongly encouraged to reserve their seat in advance to ensure space on board. When booking, customers should select the 11:55 p.m. departure time for the late-night service.
Tickets are on sale now at d2a2.com. Discounts are also available for seniors, people with disabilities, and those purchasing a book of 10 or more tickets.
