Going to court so you can fight a traffic ticket is not fun. Especially when it may take hours out of your day waiting to appear before a judge in court. A new process at the 36th district courts has been designed to cut down on time for traffic ticket cases kicks off next week.
State Appeals Court Judge Michael Talbot says the pre-hearing docket starts Monday and lets ticketed motorists meet with police representatives who will review driving records to determine if reduced pleas can be offered.
Motorists who accept the pleas then can pay reduced tickets in the courthouse. Hearings will be scheduled for motorists who turn down reduced pleas.
