A surprise birthday message through facebook will surely lift ten-year-old Colin spirits on March 9th. Colin, a student from Kalamazoo, MI will be turning 11 next month, and when asked if he wanted a birthday party his mom reported to WOODTV, he responded, “Mom, who am I going to invite? I don’t have any friends.” As with any concerned mother, this comment broke her heart -and she decided to show Colin just how loved he is . She created a facebook page for close friends and relatives to leave kind words and birthday wishes for his birthday.
“If I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party,” she remarks on his Happy Birthday Colin facebook page.
Colin was diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder and another disorder similar to autism and Asperger syndrome. His disorders causes him to act out in school-which challenges his social skills leaving him to play alone.
A simple gesture to make her son feel better has now reached 1.1 million likes on facebook -in addition he has already started receiving birthday cards from people worldwide. To send Colin a birthday card address below:
