Wayne County Treasurer’s Office Tax Payer Assistance Saturdays

 During the month of February the Wayne County Treasurer’s office and Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) will host Taxpayer Assistance Saturdays.  Each Saturday the Treasurer’s Office will have representatives at three WCCCD campuses to meet with taxpayers and explain assistance options that may help avoid foreclosure proceedings.  Stepforwardmichigan.gov, United Community Housing Coalition and other resources will be in attendance to assist taxpayers.
Any resident owing 2014 and prior year taxes is encouraged to attend a Taxpayer Assistance Saturdays.  Residents must bring their property’s parcel number and owner identification.  For those who can pay their back taxes, the Treasurer’s Office will accept money orders and cashier’s check onsite made payable to the Wayne County Treasurer.
If unable to attend a Taxpayer Assistance Saturday, you may qualify for one of the other programs offered by the Treasurer’s Office.  Information on these programs is available on the Treasurer’s website www.treasurer.waynecounty.com.  Questions can be emailed to taxinfo@waynecounty.com or by calling 313-224-5990.
