Wayne County Executive Warren Evans Endorses Mike Bloomberg For President

Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg, touting Mike’s plans to drive economic empowerment and create opportunities for all Americans. He applauded his commitment to communities of color and vision for a country in which everyone can thrive.

“Mike Bloomberg understands the barriers facing people across this country and has the record of accomplishment and vision to get the job done for everyday Americans,” said Wayne County Executive Warren Evans. “As our next president, I know he will follow through as a federal partner as we revitalize overlooked neighborhoods, make smart investments in our infrastructure, and make sure all communities, regardless of zip code, are safe, healthy, and prosperous.”

“Warren Evans is a strong voice for the more than 1.7 million people who call Wayne County home,” said Michigan State Director Michael Kurtz. “As the Chief Executive for the most populated county in the state, he understands the importance of electing a president who shares our values and will fight each and every day for all Americans. Born in Detroit, Warren Evans is the current Wayne County Executive, former Wayne County Sheriff, and former Chief of Police for the City of Detroit. Elected in 2014 amidst a financial crisis, Evans has led the effort to restore ethical leadership and financial health for Wayne County since taking office. Evans has worked tirelessly to attract sustainable economic development and opportunity to the County and protect vital services throughout Wayne County’s 43 distinct communities, including Detroit.
