On what would have been Tupac Amaru Shakur’s 45th birthday, June 16, fans got their first glimpse at the upcoming Benny Boom-directed 2Pac biopic All Eyez On Me.
The piece appears to begin with Tupac’s mom, the late Afeni, being ambushed by the FBI because of her involvement with the Black Panther Party revolutionary group in the early 1970s and goes through his childhood up to his incredible, albeit abbreviated career.
The film is seen through Demetrius Shipp, Jr. who plays Tupac, along with the cast Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan, Kat Graham, Jamal Woolard (Biggie), and more. In Oakland, where Pac spent a lot of his younger days, the city has officially marked June 16 as Tupac day.
All Eyez on Me is set to hit theaters on Nov. 11.
