Award-winning gospel superstar Vickie Winans will headline the star-studded Hartford Gospel Concert this Friday night at Hartford Church, setting the stage for a powerful weekend of music and inspiration. Known for nurturing musical talent, Detroit’s gospel scene will shine as part of the Hartford Women’s Conference, with Minister Curtis Kilpatrick hosting the event. The weekend promises an uplifting experience for attendees, blending soul-stirring performances with community and faith.

Some of gospel music’s biggest stars, Dottie Peoples, Zacardi Cortez, Detroit Youth Choir (DYC), and Smokie Norful, will take the stage on Friday, October 18th, for an unforgettable night of praise and worship.

The concert kicks off at 6 PM, with doors opening at 5 PM. It will feature a special performance by Maurice Griffin, Sunday Best’s first runner-up.

Rev. Charles Christian Adams, Senior Pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, emphasized that when he was growing up at Hartford Church, he was exposed to all kinds of music and well-known performers.

“As Pastor, it’s my joy to continue this tradition with the upcoming performance of these well-known Gospel stars,” Pastor Adams expressed.

On Saturday, Oct 19th, the Women’s Conference begins at 8 AM with a continental breakfast, and classes throughout the day with dynamic women speakers, such as, Rev Dr. Jessica Ingram, Rev Dr. Remonia Chapman, Rev Dr. Nikita McAllister, Rev. Marla Williams, Dr. Tamara Scott and several others. The evening will conclude with preaching at 7PM by Bishop Vashti McKenzie in the sanctuary.

First Lady Nicole Adams of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church has always had the powerful vision to utilize the proceeds from events to support her 501c3 organization, Rebuild the Foundation. Some of the proceeds from the weekend concert will go directly towards constructing safe and secure housing for women and children who have been impacted by domestic violence.

Then, on Sunday morning, Hartford Church will be packed with an inspirational service. At 7:30 AM, Rev. Karen Belton will deliver a powerful sermon that is not to be missed. Following that, at 11:00 AM, Bishop Vashti McKenzie will deliver an inspiring and thought-provoking message to the congregation.

The 11:00 AM service will also feature a special appearance by Lady Tramaine Hawkins, who will join the Combined Choirs of Hartford and the American Baptist Convention, promising an uplifting and memorable musical experience. It’s also worth noting that Hartford Church has gained national recognition for its exceptional Music Ministry, with Alvin Waddles serving as the Music Director.
