April is Black Women’s Month, and the sistahs are continuing to receive their flowers from the community.
The Michigan Chronicle just held its 16th Women of Excellence ceremony on April 5. The Torch of Wisdom Foundation (TOWF) will honor WOE Woman of the Year Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kyra Bolden and other Black female leaders at their “Black No-Tie” celebration on Friday, April 14. The event will be held at Silver Garden Events Center in Southfield, MI.
Joining Justice Bolden on TOWF’s list of awardee are Dr. Kimberlydawn Wisdom, Senior Vice President of Community Health & Equity and Chief Wellness and Diversity Officer at Henry Ford Health System; Sheri Crawley, Founder of Pretty Brown Girl; Lyric Z. The Torch of Wisdom Foundation (TOWF) was established in 1993. It provides grants to support scholastic achievement and community service programs. The focus of TOWF is to raise funds for scholarship (academic achievement); programs that heighten awareness of the arts and expose the talents and works of local and nationally known artists; and for initiatives that strengthen and enrich its communities. Honoring Local Heroes is one of the TOWF’s signature events.
