As reported, results[1] from the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as the “Nation’s Report Card,” showed incremental growth in both reading and math performance since 2011.
Educator Dr. Steve Perry[2] (host of TV One’s “Save My Son[3]“) spoke with Roland Martin[4] about the bottom line: ”It means that ed reform is working.”
“When you have higher accountability, you have more rigorous expectations, and you have the support of the political leadership to make the fundamental changes occur,” he explained.
