Samantha Lewthwaite, Alleged Kenya Mall Attack Planner, Leaves Behind Manifesto

Samantha Lewthwaite, the world’s most wanted woman who authorities believe was behind the Kenya mall attack, left behind a terrifying manifesto in which she outlines her commitment to terrorism–including training her own children for future attacks, the UK Daily Mail reports[1].

In nine notebook pages left behind in a Kenyan safe house in which she and several extremists were allegedly planning attacks on two hotels and a shopping center, the White widow expressed her love for former husband, Germaine Lindsay, one of the four 7/7 bombers who detonated bombs in three trains on the London Underground and one bus in central London during the July 7, 2005 London bombings that killed 56 people and wounded more than 700.

“I asked for a man that would go forth, give all he could for Allah and live a life of terrorising the disbelievers as they have us,” she wrote. “That is what I wanted, and Allah has given me this and better.”

Lewthwaite, who was born in Northern Ireland and raised in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, also discussed how a man believed to be her second husband was grooming her children to be terrorists.

She wrote; ”Recently my beloved husband gave a talk to my eight-year-old daughter and my five-year-old son.”

“He asked them what do you want to be when you are older? Both had many answers but both agreed to one of wanting to be a mujahid (fighter).”

”What makes someone a mujahid? His point to the kids, which i believe to be as relevant to many adults…was that it is not enough to say i want to be a mujahid yet live your life as [one].”

While it is not believed that Lewthwaite was among the terrorists who took part in the Westgate Mall massacre in Nairobi in which at least 67 people were killed, an Al Shabaab spokesperson said she was involved in the attack. At least some sixty people are still unaccounted for.

The UK Metro named[2] the four attackers who were killed by Kenyan security forces as Abu Baara al-Sudani, Omar Nabhan, Khattab al-Kene and Umayr.

The Belfast-Telegraph reports[3] that Lewthwaite, 29, rented a unit at the mall months in advance of the attack. On the day of the attacks, it is believed that she, along with her three children, was able to escape capture by blending in with civilians who were fleeing the mall.

Believed to use the alias Natalie Webb, she is wanted by Kenya on charges of being in possession of explosives and conspiracy to commit a felony dating back to December 2011. And she has also been linked to Habib Ghani, a London bomb maker who was killed in Somalia recently[4].

Right now, Lewthwaite is on the run and is on the run after Interpol issued a global ”red notice” for her arrest.
