Popular Detroit Brunch Spot Hudson Cafe Set To Open up Shop at a Third Location – In Troy

The iconic Hudson Café is expanding – for the third time and preparing to break ground!

The owners of the popular Hudson Café located on Woodward Ave. in the heart of Detroit are planning another location to open later this year.

Troy will be the third location for Hudson Cafe. The new location is in the planning stages with construction expected to start in mid-late August with a plan to open ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

For the newest location, owner Tom Teknos teamed with Birmingham-based Windy City Construction and Olon Interior in St. Clair Shores will handle the interior design. Both were behind Hudson Cafe’s new Northville location and the recent remodel of its Detroit location on Woodward.

Teknos closed the original Hudson Cafe on Woodward in late January for a complete remodel. It included adding a bar, updating the kitchen, remodeling the dining room and adding more seating.

Though Detroit has always been a destination location Teknos says with this latest addition, Troy will capture those from Royal Oak, Rochester and Birmingham.

The menu will not stray away from the original eats – it will be identical to the Detroit and Northville locations.

The location will sit at Big Beaver and Crooks Road just off I-75 near Somerset Mall, restaurants, hotels, many businesses, and most importantly – people. The space spans 3,600 square feet and is on the north side of Big Beaver. There will be two separate bars, one with 14 seats and one with seven seats. The overall space will accommodate nearly 90 guests, and an outdoor patio will face Big Beaver.
