“Pink Meets Pumpkins” – JLGP Hosts 2nd Annual Pink’o’ween: A Festive Breast

The Joe Louis Greenway Partnership (JLGP) invites the community to join Pink ’o’ ween, a free, family-friendly celebration that blends Halloween fun with breast cancer awareness, survivor recognition, and community connection.

Event Highlights:

• Breast Cancer Awareness Walk: Led by Pattidukes of The Detroit Fitness – a 2-mile walk from Warren Ave to Joy Rd and back. Begins at 11:30 a.m.

• Free Festivities for All Ages: Food trucks, a petting zoo, trick-or-treating, raffles, swag giveaways, and massages for survivors.

• Costume Giveaway: 100 costumes for kids, first come, first served.

 Community Resources: Local partners offering health, wellness, and support services.

• Raffle & Swag: Two special raffle prizes and exclusive items for walk participants.

“Pink ’o’ ween is all about community, coming together to celebrate strength, support one another, and raise awareness,” said Leona Medley, Executive Director of the Joe Louis Greenway Partnership. “It’s a day for hope, healing, and unity – reminding us that when we stand together, we build a stronger Detroit.”

According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Pink’ o ’ween honors survivors while empowering Detroiters to move, celebrate, and support one another.
