Washington, D.C.—The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African Americans, announced, in a press release, that they are launching an effort to sign up 1,000,000 prayer warriors to remind the Black church that their power and weapon lies in, not marching, but praying.
The Lord gave us this vision about a year ago, saying the reason why we have yet to attract 10,000,000 Black men back to church is because we have failed to pray about it first. Prayer is the essence of success, it always has been and always will be.
Those who forget to pray, forget to invoke the power of God in their lives. Prayer is the foundation of calling 10,000,000 Black men back to church.
We are getting ready to witness a miracle, simply because we plan to obey God’s simple command to raise 1,000,000 prayer warriors and pray for the success of the evangelism of Black males, back into His church and back into His body. We also plan to pray for all the sickness in our church, cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart diseasearekilling us in record numbers, largely because we fail to pray, and follow our doctor’s instructions and basic health truths. Our children are more concerned about social media than praying. We need to get our children back into the church and back into praying. One of the first steps for them to come back to church is prayer.
Our theme is prayer, praise and healing. You can sign up to become a prayer warrior.
Reverend Anthony Evans, president of the NBCI says, “This inspiration came to me through a revelation from God. When Rev. Gwendolyn E. Allen, who organized our 24-hour prayer vigil every year at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., the Lord spoke to me and said that every church needs to have a 24-hour prayer vigil at least once a year, but I need also to raise up 1,000,000 prayer warriors of people who are going to pray every day for themselves, their families and the other Christian warriors. The Lord also spoke to me and said, ‘if you are able to pray and provoke my name, things will happen when you exercise the power that is in prayer.’ I followed the Lord’s edicts and created the 1,000,000 Prayer Warriors Project. We are asking everyone in every family in America to sign up to become a prayer warrior, for we need to come together and pray for our sevles, our family, our communities, our neighbors and our nation.”
Reverend Evans went on to say, “We need to first provoke the name of Jesus Christ and the Father, and the power behind that in order to overcome life’s sickness, disappointments and challenges.
“One of the reasons why we lack the power of prayer is because we do not combine prayer and praise. Hallelujah is the highest praise to God the Father and God the Son. Hallelujah. That is why it is important to not only pray, but also praise God for His mighty works in our lives.
“Most of what we pray for is some form of healing, healing on our bodies, healing in our finances, healing in our relationships, healing in ourselves. This is why we have chosen this particular theme. Prayer, praise and healing.
“Now that we know that if we raise up 1,000,000 prayer warriors in Christ Jesus to pray for the destiny and healing of the Black church, this is the most powerful weapon that we have failed to use which God has given us free of charge.
“We do not need to oppose President Trump, we need to pray for him. Prayer and public pressure can move this man. The reason why same sex marriage passed in America is because we failed to pray, we failed to provoke the power of God in our lives, in our culture and in our society. This is why we are raising up 1,000,000 prayer warriors to pray for the sick in our church, pray for our clergy, pray for our children, pray for our nation and pray for whatever is possible.”
