A local carpentry training school to highlight a major agreement that will triple the number of Detroiters who are members of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters & Millwrights. Under a new agreement with the City of Detroit hundreds more Detroit residents will now have the opportunity to learn a highly in-demand skilled trade that can provide then with a well-paying construction career as Detroit rebuilds. The MRCC is the second major union to commit to hiring more Detroiters as part of Mayor Mike Duggan’s Skilled Trades Employment Program, which was announced in December.
