Michelle Williams Album Release Party in Atlanta for ‘Journey to Freedom’

Michelle Williams stopped off at Suite Food Lounge during the ATL leg of her promotional tour for her fourth Gospel album, Journey to Freedom, and her fifth solo album overall since Destiny’s Child disbanded back in 2005.
It’s Williams’ first album since releasing 2008’s “Unexpected,” her lone secular album to date. The likes of R&B Diva Meelah Williams, former SWV member Leanne Lyons and celebrity photographer Derek Blanks were posted up on the set to support Michelle Williams.
The CD features features the single “Say Yes,” which reunited her with Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland and the cut has succeeded on the gospel charts.
The single was particularly poignant for Williams because, as she revealed on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in June, Williams got emotion while discussing her collaboration with Knowles and Rowland on “Say Yes.”
Destiny’s Child announced in 2005 that it was disbanding and hasn’t released a studio album since 2004’s “Destiny Fulfilled.” Williams and Rowland did, however, briefly join Knowles on stage in February for her Super Bowl halftime performance.
