WarmingCenterAs we are experiencing such severe cold temperatures, The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit wants to remind people that in addition to providing its usual services The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Corps Community Centers are serving as warming centers during normal business hours.
“The Salvation Army is proud to be among the organizations opening their doors to protect our neighbors in need from the dangerous Michigan winter,” said Maj. Mark Anderson, general secretary and metro Detroit area commander for The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division. “We provide essential human services such as food and shelter daily, but it’s crucial to offer warm accommodations as we experience such severe conditions.”
