Former Detroit Lion’s running back Joique Bell has been re-signed by the Detroit Lions
Bell was cut from the team in February.
While Bell was away, he has tried out for many teams including the Lions. Bell was picked up by the Chicago Bears, but was dropped from the team in October.
“It’s great to get back, I’m excited. I think I can contribute a lot,” he said. “It’s great to be able to be a part of something (with) a lot of guys I’ve played with and have that team camaraderie and feel like I came back and we picked up where we left off, so it’s a great feeling,” said Bell.
This week for Bell is a big one. Not only is he back with the team, he earned a master’s degree while away.
Bell said, “It’s funny that my first week back here is the week I graduate from Wayne State with my masters. I always preach that to the kids I mentor or the kids who come to my camps. For me to be able to walk across that stage on Saturday, I don’t want to tell them to do something I haven’t done,” Bell said. “For me to be able to go back to my alma mater and finish my masters degree there and have my son there, that’s probably one of the greatest experiences I’ll ever have as a father.”
And as far as what he will bring to the team, Bell is confident that he has what it takes.
“I’ll be ready. Of course I’ll be ready,” he said.
