Jessica Care Moore rocks with the artist performing at UnScripted
G.R. N’namdi Gallery served as a backdrop to the free flow music meets arts event UnScripted presented by Real Times Media, FRONTPAGE Detroit and Detroit Star Club this past Saturday. The outside patio was set with lush couches, bottle service and Detroit’s elite. It was the perfect setting for Detroit music legends Sean Blackman, Saxappeal and many others to filled the air with Detroit poetry, jazz, rap and rock.
DJ Stacey Hottwax set the stage for hostess Jessica Care Moore who proved that this would not be your typical concert. The unscripted theme was supported by impromptu performances throughout the night. The lineup of artist knew they would not want to miss this event. Saxappeal said, “Anytime Jessica calls for me, I am there. The energy on the stage and from the audience makes this such a good vibe. I hope it returns each year” Saxappeal is a renowned Detroit saxophonist who found his love for music through watching Lisa Simpson on the cartoon show ‘The Simpson’ when he as growing up. “Inspiration can come from anywhere” he said.
Inspiration was the key for this event by highlighting the arts, music and positivity that goes on in the city. Great events, people and places is something that managing editor, Rian English, plans to continue to promote with the newly relaunched Michigan FrontPage now know as FRONTPAGE Detroit. True to the theme and the setting, the last piece for the night was with Jessica Care Moore performing her epic ‘I’m from Detroit’ piece. UnScripted was truly the best way to welcome summer.
