Google today announced the launch of Grow with Google OnAir, a free digital skills training program that brings the resources, classes and 1:1 coaching previously offered in-person at Grow with Google training events to small business owners and job seekers nationwide. At a time when many Americans may be grappling with unemployment or trying to reach customers online, Grow with Google OnAir will offer free virtual programming for jobseekers and business owners.
Grow with Google OnAir will feature versions of its most popular training workshops, as well as special events like panel discussions with business and technology experts that can help guide professionals’ and business owners’ strategies during the pandemic recovery period. Grow with Google OnAir partners, including Merit America and the National Congress of American Indians, will also host program workshops. And hundreds of U.S. Google employees have signed up to volunteer their time as virtual 1:1 coaches for program participants, with sessions available on a first come, first served basis.
“Face to face learning has always been integral to Grow with Google’s mission. Since that’s no longer possible, we are pivoting our resources to a virtual space that is personalized and interactive to give users an equally beneficial experience,” said Jesse Haines, Director of Grow with Google. “We hope that people across the country — including jobseekers and small business owners— can boost their potential with the diverse content contributed by our Grow with Google team and our incredible partners.”
The website also allows users to easily search and register for upcoming events and browse an archive of “On Demand” events so they never miss a learning opportunity. Anyone with a Google account can go online now and register for their first Grow with Google OnAir event.
Grow with Google’s in-person curriculum will provide a foundation for the content of the new virtual OnAir program, including product workshops for small business owners (Analytics, YouTube) and skills workshops for jobseekers (Project Management, Resume).
