Forgotten Harvest, one of the nation’s largest food rescue agencies, has for the ninth consecutive year earned a four-star rating by Charity Navigator for “sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.” Only 9 of 40 Detroit-area nonprofit organizations received a four-star rating this year, according to Charity Navigator, and Forgotten Harvest is only one of two local nonprofit organizations that has received the rating nine consecutive times.
“Only one percent of the charities we rate all over the country have received at least nine consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that Forgotten Harvest outperforms most other charities in America,” said Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael Thatcher. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Forgotten Harvest from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
