Experience the Magic of Candy Land at Somerset Collection

Somerset Collection is set to bring the beloved Candy Land game to life in a spectacular way. From August 1 to 11, between noon and 6 p.m., guests of all ages are invited to participate in a life-sized version of the classic board game inside Somerset Collection’s North Grand Court. This immersive, candy-themed adventure offers fun and excitement while supporting a meaningful cause.

Admission to this unique Candy Land experience is a $5 donation, benefitting Fleece & Thank You, a Michigan-based non-profit dedicated to providing fleece blankets with encouraging messages to hospitalized children and their families.

“Somerset Collection is dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for guests and supporting organizations that better our community,” said Kathryn Millea, general manager at Somerset Collection. “We invite everyone to join us in Candy Land to create fun-filled, lasting memories while making a difference in children’s lives.”

The game begins with players spinning a life-sized wheel to determine their starting point on the vibrant Candy Land board. As they navigate the board, lucky players may land on special spots that offer exciting prizes from various merchants within the mall. Prizes range from sweet treats and fun trinkets to back-to-school necessities, redeemable either immediately or in-store with a voucher.

“The heart that Somerset Collection has to support worthy causes is something we are so grateful for,” said Nicholas Kristock, executive director of Fleece & Thank You. “Our partnership over the years has been game-changing in providing comfort to 30,000 kids in Michigan hospitals annually, and we are very excited about this latest Candy Land collaboration. Let the fun begin!”

Adding to the excitement, the Candy Land experience was developed and is being managed by Somerset Collection’s ten summer interns, who will also help lead the games throughout the day. Sydni Pieczarka, a graduate of Michigan State University, shared her enthusiasm: “It was as if we were kids in a candy store again while developing this game! We had a rewarding experience behind the scenes, and we hope participants not only have a great time playing and winning prizes but also leave with a sense of fulfillment from contributing to a great cause.”
