In a time when large gathering and events have been cancelled, ESSENCE’s staple festival in New Orleans has decided move their signature event until 2021 due to COVID-19. Instead they have announced the ESSENCE Benefit Series to Fight COVID-19 to raise money and provide support for businesses and organizations in the Black community across the country. The Festival is going virtual over the 4th of July Weekend.
According to ESSENCE’s website, “the virtual Festival will be a benefit celebration in honor and support of the City of New Orleans, which has been an incredible partner over the Festival’s 26 years and continues to be especially hit by this crisis.”
