Emagine Entertainment, Inc., a movie theater chain, announces the acquisition of the Birmingham 8 Theatre in Birmingham, Michigan effective February 2. The theatre will be called “Birmingham 8, Powered by Emagine.” Renovated in 2015 with new luxury seating, reserved seating, liquor license, and updates to the venues screens and sound system, the theatre will not undergo any additional changes. The iconic marquee will also remain unchanged and continue to be a trademark of the theatre. The Birmingham 8, Powered by Emagine, will continue to play art house and first-run films. As a Powered by Emagine theatre, patrons can expect the same great service and amenities the Emagine brand is known for including expanded concession items, craft beer, cocktails & wine, large candy selections, Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, popcorn, and a healthier option of OlivEpop popcorn, and of course luxury seating, large screens, loyalty programs, and amazing sound systems. The Birmingham 8, Powered by Emagine, is currently closed with plans to reopen within 90 days.
