Senator Adam Hollier was born and raised in the north end of Detroit where generations of his family have lived since the 1940s. The son of a former social worker and a retired Detroit Fire Department captain, service to people and the community were ingrained in Hollier from a young age.
Sen. Hollier served as a volunteer firefighter before enlisting in the U.S. Army and graduating with distinction from officer candidate school. He currently serves as a paratrooper and Public Works Officer in the 412th Civil Affairs Battalion.
He began his public service in roles as a staffer in the state legislature and with local officials in the city of Detroit. As senator, Hollier has secured funding and gained bipartisan support for critical programs throughout the region, including career readiness, business development, mentoring and education initiatives. Senator Hollier has a passion for community and believes that developing careers and businesses, strengthening public education, pushing for fair representation within district maps, affordable childcare, and fostering strong, safe neighborhoods are key to the continued growth of our region.
