Detroit's Four Tops featuring Duke Fakir to highlight tree lighting ceremony

Four Tops Christmas Tree LightingThe iconic Four Tops will be the headlining act at this year’s tree lighting ceremony, and Duke Fakir, the group’s last remaining original member, still looking good as he looks forward to celebrating his 80th birthday the day after Christmas, says he is both thrilled and proud to be a part of the event.
“That’s another one of those great traditions that I really love,” he said. “It’s like opening the door to the holidays and that holiday spirit. ..It’s really an honor to be a part of anything that is so magical to the city. And I just want people to know how much we still really love our city.”
When asked how the Four Tops were chosen for the honor, Fakir laughed and said, “I don’t know, and I don’t care. The important thing is we were chosen.”
