Manhattan responded with a 7-0 run to push the lead back to 10, 54-44, with 8:33 remaining, before an Allen three in the corner ignited an 11-2 spurt to pull the Titans within one, 58-57. The final points off that charge came from McFolley drilling a three at 6:14 mark in the second half.
The Jaspers scored their last bucket with 2:56 to go before the Titans clamped down defensively and held Manhattan scoreless over the final minutes. Trailing 65-62, Jenkins nailed a jumper to bring the Titans within one before Black split a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left to send the affair to overtime.

In the first extra frame, Hogan converted on a pair of post moves to push the Titans ahead by four, 72-68, with 58 seconds left in the contest, but missed free throws allowed the Jaspers to hang around and tie the game, eventually sending it to a second extra stanza.
Manhattan hit back-to-back threes in the second overtime to go ahead, 81-78, before Jenkins drilled a step-back three to tie the game. Zavier Turner then scored on a put-back with 1:57 to put Manhattan up two, before the Titan defense forced a turnover to create a fast break opportunity for McFolley, but he was whistled for a charge and the Jaspers regained possession and split a pair of free throws. The Titans then had one final opportunity to send it to a third overtime, but Jenkins’ three-point attempt come up just short at the buzzer and Manhattan escaped with the win.

Game Notes:
It was the first-ever meeting between Detroit Mercy and Manhattan… The Titans and Jaspers are actually rivals in men’s lacrosse as members of the MAAC… The Titans changed their starting line-up for the first time this season as Black and Blackshear Jr. earned the opening nods… The last time the Titans played a double overtime game was on Nov. 24, 2013, when the Titans and Stony Brook – also located in New York – played three overtimes… Detroit Mercy had five players in double-figure scoring for the second time this season with the first also at home against Adrian… Allen’s seven assists were the most since Carlton Brundidge had nine at UIC last season… McFolley came into the game shooting just under 50.0-percent from three hitting 14-of-29 from distance… Hogan was one rebound shy of his third career double-double… Hogan has now put in eight field goals three times in his career…
