For Donovan Peoples-Jones, the football field has always been more than just a place to compete; it’s been a launching pad for dreams. The football field has always been a space to grow, lead, and dream. On Saturday, June 7, the Detroit Lions wide receiver and proud Detroit native is bringing that spirit home, hosting his Fourth Annual Youth Football Camp at Renaissance High School located at 6565 Outer Drive W from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Open to 200 youth athletes ages 8 to 12, the free camp, organized through Peoples-Jones’ Limitless Foundation, will offer hands-on football training infused with life skills and health-focused learning. Backed by key partners including The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation and the Comerica Charitable Foundation, the event aims to help Metro Detroit kids develop not just as athletes, but as leaders and well-rounded individuals.

“This camp is about more than football,” Peoples-Jones said.

“We are building confidence, teaching the value of teamwork, and showing these young athletes that success in the classroom and in life is just as important as success on the field.”

Throughout the day, campers will run agility drills, learn proper stretching and hydration practices, and engage in exercises that promote physical wellness. The curriculum also includes breakout sessions emphasizing the importance of teamwork, discipline, and communication skills that extend far beyond the gridiron and into the classroom and daily life.

The coaching roster boasts current NFL players, former collegiate athletes, and respected local coaches from Cass Tech High School, Peoples-Jones’ alma mater. Their goal: to inspire the next generation of athletes with elite instruction and genuine mentorship.

Each participant will also receive a free T-shirt, swag bag, lunch, and the chance to win autographed memorabilia and other special giveaways.

In a time when many kids face barriers to both athletic and educational resources, Peoples-Jones’ camp is a rare opportunity and a reminder that hometown heroes can make a lasting impact.

Registration is now open and is limited to the first 200 sign-ups at www.dpjlimitlessfoundation.org.
