The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced an extension to the operating hours of its customer service call center. The new hours, effective from July 2023, extend from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays.
This change follows a series of improvements that DDOT has made over the past year. These include extended operating hours on several bus routes, a partnership with Token Transit for a more convenient mobile payment system, and the introduction of new biodiesel coaches to the fleet.
“At DDOT, we place our customers at the heart of everything we do. By extending our customer service hours, we are reinforcing our commitment to offer unparalleled support and assistance when our riders need it. Our team is dedicated to going above and beyond to ensure a seamless travel experience for everyone we serve. We value our customers’ trust and are thrilled to provide extended service to accommodate their needs better,” said Mikel Oglesby, Executive Director of Transit in a statement.
DDOT expressed that the decision to extend the call center hours is part of their aim to provide a more customer-oriented experience, aligning with the quality of the existing transportation services.
As our city continues to grow and change, it is crucial that our public transportation system evolves with it. DDOT’s latest service enhancements are a testament to its dedication to providing a transportation service that is reliable, efficient, and now, more accessible than ever before.
Customers may reach the DDOT service team at (313) 933-1300, TDD/TTY 7-1-1, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, customers can leave a voicemail that includes the route number, location, direction, and time of the incident.
