The incident took place at approximately 11 p.m. Tremaine and his girlfriend left their home at 84 Mark, going to the Sunoco gas station on Huron St. On their way home they walked through the alley behind the Sunoco station. An unknown male was also walking through the alley ahead of them, and was suddenly nowhere in sight. Tremaine and his girlfriend exited the alley at Mark St. An unknown male came from behind a parked car, shot Tremaine, and fled on foot. Tremaine died the next day at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, now known as McLaren Oakland Hospital.
Tremaine was only 25 years old. He attended Bethune Alternative School in Pontiac. Tremaine was newly employed as a security guard, assigned to work at Cobo Hall in Detroit. He is the father of two sons, ages 6 and 5.
