Credit Consultant Ebony Cochran campaigns for credit literacy

Founder of Blackwood Credit Services one of Detroit’s leading credit consultant firms Ebony Cochran launches political style campaign to educate people on credit literacy leading to high credit scores. During this three-month campaign, Cochran will host a series of online periscope sessions and will be featured on Detroit’s Hot 107.5 Morning Heat “Back to the Money Monday’s starring Big Greg, Deelishis, and Foolish where she will be providing tips and counseling to those illiterate to building credit.

“Credit is a game and you’re forced to play it without the rules” said Cochran “My goal with my campaign is to teach the game of credit so that people can get a fair chance,” she continued.

In her Social sessions Cochran will expand on her top tips which includes:

1. Pull your credit reports/review them for accuracy
2. Don’t be quick to pay collections off-that can hurt your score
3. Pay off open debts from smallest to largest
4. Understand the credit scoring formula model
5. Don’t go credit happy (overly applying for new credit)

Cochran a serial entrepreneur realized the importance of credit when she was looking to purchase a home. After reading about it and dedicating a lot of time to increase her own score to over an 800 she turned her knowledge into a new business.

“With a low credit score it’s becoming increasingly hard to get a good rate on cars, auto insurance, mortgage and even jobs now.” Said Cochran. “With the right knowledge and steps people can increase their score and keep it high.”
